The Château of Uzès – Duchy of Uzès : The Duchy of Uzès, the town’s iconic landmark, is one of the few duchies still active in France. Overlooking the historic center, it can be visited and offers a true journey through time with its towers, furnished reception rooms, and breathtaking views over the rooftops of Uzès.
Medieval Garden : The Medieval Garden of Uzès is a peaceful haven nestled in the heart of the town. Inspired by medieval gardens, it features medicinal, aromatic, and kitchen plants in a soothing setting, along with beautiful views from its tower.

Uzès, City of Bishops and the First Duchy of France. The Diocese of Uzès was established in the 5th century A.D. based on the Roman model. It is said that, until the Revolution, the bishops of Uzès minted coins and administered justice—prerogatives that attest to their great power. In the 18th century, the Diocese of Uzès comprised 193 parishes, making it one of the largest in Languedoc.

In the 20th century, Uzès experienced a revival when its downtown area was designated a "preservation district" on January 5, 1965. Since the early 1950s, economic growth had picked up thanks to tourism as well as the arrival of major companies such as Haribo and the National Stud Farm…

Designated a "City of Art and History" in November 2008, Uzès enjoys international renown, and people come from all over the world to stroll its streets and admire its heritage.
